Garlic is a super food (and my favorite food). Garlic is a rich source of phytochemicals, which wards off diseases & viruses. Plus, it helps boost your immune system. Take a look at more benefits of Garlic below!
Tip: To help ward off bad breath from garlic, eat it with an apple or a mix of apple vinegar and water with honey. A lemon wedge may also do the trick.

Garlic has traditionally been used to treat many health conditions, including:
Garlic may help lower your blood pressure, reports the NCCIH. Taking garlic supplements may be especially helpful if you have chronically high blood pressure, or hypertension.
Raw garlic and garlic supplements contain the compound allicin. This compound may help relax the smooth muscles in your blood vessels. When those muscles relax, your blood vessels dilate and blood pressure drops.
Some research suggests that eating garlic may help prevent certain kinds of cancer, reports the National Cancer Institute. For example, studies have found a link between a diet rich in garlic and lower risk of stomach, colon, esophagus, pancreas, and breast cancers.
One trial did find that people who took garlic supplements reported spending fewer days sick with the common cold.
Garlic contains antioxidants that protect against cell damage and aging. It may reduce the risk of Alzheimer's disease and dementia.
Garlic was one of the earliest "performance enhancing" substances.
It was traditionally used in ancient cultures to reduce fatigue and enhance the work capacity of laborers. Most notably, it was given to Olympic athletes in ancient Greece.
Garlic have been shown to protect against organ damage from heavy metal toxicity.
Garlic is also considered to possess strong antiviral properties. For example, experiments have proved that garlic extract can minimize influenza A and B viral infections.
Tip: Growing garlic is EASY. Take a regular garlic from the store and break off a clove. Each clove plants a bulb of garlic (grows about 10-15 bulbs of garlic). Plant garlic in the fall three to eight weeks before the first autumn freeze, grows in about 9 months.
