Dealing With Insecurities
Am I a good mom? Am I doing a good job as a mom? Questions like these are always on the mind. Mental checks are good because it keeps you focused and helps you to improve. There is a need to be balanced in doing these mental checks with yourself. Sometimes, as moms, we can be really hard on ourselves. We may become overly critical or even take to heart the criticism of others. Whatever the case, it's important to feel confident in your abilities as a mom. Don't let mistakes get you feeling like a failure and don't let the comments of others bother you either. All you can do is focus on doing the best possible job you can as a parent.
Ways you can get a handle on being a mom is by developing a schedule. Take 15 minutes every evening (once the kids are asleep) and plan what you want to feed them for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks. Prepare their clothes for the next day (or at least have a mental idea). Then prepare an activity you want to do with your child. Be sure to include nap times too! Having a plan of action for your children will take out the extra stress of being a mom. At the end of the day reflect and highlight what you did well as a mom and also what you'd like to focus on for the next day. Remember to have FUN nurturing your children and watching them grow. Don't miss out because you're so busy feeling insecure. Do what you can and fuck what you can't (or at least make a conscious effort to work on it).
