DIY Disinfectant Spray
Is it just me, or are disinfectants hard to find these days? During cold and flu season, they're hard to find because EVERYONE is buying them! Not just that, but, what about the ingredients in those products? Yea, they kill germs but, how are those ingredients affecting your skin and lungs? After all, the ingredients aren't natural.
Follow these steps to create your own EFFECTIVE and NATURAL disinfectant spray using simple low cost products.
Hydrogen Peroxide Disinfectant Spray
You'll need:
1 Spray Bottle
2 Cups Distilled Water
1 Cup 3-6% Peroxide
5-10mL Lemon Juice or Lemon Essential Oil
*create a 2:1 ratio of water to peroxide
Mix all into a spray bottle with a gentle shake. Test a small area first to make sure your surface won't be destroyed by the spray. After spraying, let sit until the bubbles subside. Wipe surface.
Hydrogen Peroxide is made up water and oxygen and hydrogen...H202. That means it's natural and non-toxic. Using peroxide as a disinfectant will kill fungus, bacteria like staph, and viruses like H1N1, SARS, and Coronavirus. You can also use it as an alternative to bleach.
Vinegar Disinfectant Spray
You'll need:
1 Spray Bottle
1 Cup White Vinegar
1 Cup Lemon Juice
5-10 ML of Tea Tree or Rosemary oil
Mix essential oils, lemon juice, and vinegar into a spray bottle with warm distilled water. Shake gently. Spray. Wait 90 seconds. Wipe surface.
Vinegar is an acetic acid that kills bacteria and viruses.
